Verba 1.3 is the biggest update since launch. Here’s what’s in it.
Verba has had a Word of the Day widget for a while. Now it can also come to you as a notification, once a day, at the time you choose. It’s off by default: turn it on in Settings → Notifications. The notification and the widget always show the same word, and tapping it opens the full entry.
Attach a note to any word or verb: a mnemonic, where you heard it, how a friend says it. Notes are searchable from the Library tab.
Hear a word you don’t know? Save it in one tap and fill in the details later, when you have a minute.
Reflexive verbs now have full tables. A new screen shows the fused Galician object pronouns (mo, cho, llo) next to their Spanish equivalents, for 440 verbs.
The guides are now sorted by level and by language, with a topic filter and links between guides and dictionary entries.
Two reference screens in the Study tab. Gender Changes lists the nouns that switch gender between Spanish and Galician, like la leche and o leite. Sound Changes shows seven patterns that turn Spanish words into Galician, with every dictionary word that follows each one.
Search now links straight to the Real Academia Galega, the Real Academia Española and Wiktionary, or lets you capture the word for later, without leaving the app.
Thank you to every beta tester who sent feedback.
Get Verba on the App Store. It’s free and works offline.
